Ancient Stories

Question #1: How is the language in this text similar to and/or different from the language you use in everyday conversation?

Answer: In the story "Earth on Turtle's Back" it uses a short way to tell a quick story. In everyday conversations we do the same when speaking about something. We tend to shorten it up to tell it quickly but yet getting to the point of all of it.

Question #2: How important is it for a story to be repeated word for word?  Is meaning embellished, distorted, lost, or enhanced in the retelling?

Answer: It's very important for a story to be repeated word by word because it makes the story more real. If many people told a story differently it wouldn't make it as interresting. Instead it would leave people confused. It definitely brings the story more alive if it's retold and remembered the same way.
